Scope and Contents

Monthly newspaper for the Moss Side, Hulme, and Whalley Range areas of Manchester, and the journal of the Nello James Centre. Includes a report on "Growing Old in Hulme"; "Alexandra [Alec] Road"; "Nello James Free University" an article on the state of the education system and free courses held at the Centre; and community news and events. Published by Nello James Centre, 136 Withington Road, Manchester, M16 8FB, printed by Moss Side Press, 104 Bold Street, Manchester.



Inside the newspaper are flyers for the Nello James Community Advice Service, and Free University, and a copy of a letter from Mr WN[?] F Carter of Usher Immigrant Centre, Bradford to a Miss/Mrs Frater regarding "pseudo political trash" that was sent to him. Carter exclaims "No wonder Mrs Thatcher is out to control them [students]". It is not known whether the letter refers to Cassava Bami, or if it has incidently been left in the leaflet.
