Young Historians Project

The Young Historians Project (YHP) are a non-profit organisation founded in 2015 by a group of young people to help encourage the development of young historians of African and Caribbean heritage in Britain.

The Project emerged as a result of the History Matters conference held in April 2015 at the Institute of Historical Research, which highlighted the incredibly low numbers of history students and teachers of African and Caribbean heritage in Britain.

The Young Historians Project aims to readdress this imbalance through their work, drawing attention to the rich but often overlooked history of Black Britain.
